To the happy bride and groom
XtremeSounds has proudly been the DJ of choice at Grace Falls and we love every single moment. Being well equipped at Grace Falls truly enables us to get to know every client and we are extremely proud of these lasting relationships, and because we get to know our clients so intimately we see so many mistakes couples tend to make when choosing music for their special day.
We have a deep passion for music and we strive to cater for your every taste and request as well as those of your guests. We do however want to give you some advice based on our extensive experience in the industry.
One of my favorite lyrics comes from a Pink song. It so wonderfully states: “If God was a DJ, Life is the dance floor, Love is the rhythm and You are the music”. This sums up perfectly what music is meant to be. It is from the Highest, given to the soul to enjoy…
Now, this is where the problem usually comes in. None of us are the same, nor do we all have the same taste. This is what makes us all interesting. Now, we completely agree that some music might be wonderful to listen to in the car as loud as your radio can go, but this does not make it appropriate wedding reception music. Although it is your day you simply cannot alienate people at your wedding because of poor music choices. This does not mean that there is no place for your music on your wedding, you just need to time it right.
The same goes for the opposite. Just because you hate a certain song, artist or genre, does not mean that you can ban it from your wedding completely. When the guests can start requesting music, they want to keep the party alive and steer it into a certain direction, and you need to give your guests some freedom when it comes to this. Either way, we will always carefully consider requests and then decide if it is an appropriate song for the group and the specific time of the evening.
So, to put it plainly, keep an open mind, and you might just be surprised at how perfect your day turns out.
